Challenge
Port’s challenge was to build a platform capable of identifying development opportunities at an early stage and transforming them into professionally managed projects through a structured and efficient process. Switzerland has a significant number of properties with the potential for high-value development and new construction. However, identifying these opportunities and connecting property owners with the right development partners can be a complex and fragmented process. The goal was to bridge this gap by creating a clear, approachable, and user-friendly platform that makes it easy for property owners to discover the potential of their properties, connect with Port, and take the first step toward turning those opportunities into successful development projects.
Solution
As a first step, I analyzed Port’s competitive landscape to understand existing solutions, identify gaps, and uncover opportunities for differentiation. Based on these findings, I defined a product direction aligned with Port’s goals and the needs of its users. For the platform, I chose a navigation flow centered around a side panel that provides all relevant parcel information, including the parcel number and key property details. This is complemented by a full-screen map experience, allowing users to easily explore and navigate between locations. As a project progresses, the platform can also introduce a 3D representation of the potential development, helping users visualize what the future construction could look like.

For the platform, I designed a set of KPI components to communicate the potential value of each property in a clear and accessible way. These metrics help users quickly understand key opportunities and make informed decisions about the development potential of their property.

The Port appointment represents the final step before a development project begins, while the property owner’s appointment marks the starting point of the process. This initial interaction creates a clear connection between property owners and Port, transforming an opportunity into the first step toward a successful development project.

As the final step, I designed Port’s website as the main entry point to the platform. The website introduces Port’s value proposition while providing potential property owners with a clear and intuitive way to explore the platform and understand how they can get started.
